Learning to barber

One of the great aspects of barbering is men tend to be loyal to their barber. So once you’ve got an established clientele, you’ll keep them for a long time. Unless, of course, you take them for granted and give less than your best service.

To be a barber is quite easy. But to be a great barber takes passion, determination and a willingness to keep learning.  Our advice is always the same. If you work hard, have a good personality and genuinely enjoy your job, then you can have a good career.

We teach you the skills, but you need to bring your best game every day. Push yourself and keep taking the information in. It can be a little nerve racking at first, but remember that every single barber had to do a first haircut. And we are here to walk you through it. Afterwards you’ll have a great sense of achievement and it gets easier and easier as you build confidence and your skill set.

It’s also important to realise that people learn at different speeds. It’s not a race. Don’t put pressure on yourself. Relax and enjoy it. You’re here to learn. You’ll make mistakes. It’s all part of the learning curve. But by the end of your course you’ll be amazed how much you’ve learnt and the time will go in a flash.
